This presentation will introduce employers to the essentials of conducting "best practice" employment purpose background screening in line with the federal Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), California's Investigative Consumer Reporting Agencies Act (ICRAA), and new regulations that became effective on July 1, 2017, under the California Fair Employment and Housing Council (FEHC). The information presented here will provide guidance on how to legally conduct background checks in California. This will be an interactive presentation with questions encouraged and taken throughout.
Background screening industry veteran Brad Landin is president and Chief Compliance Officer for Employment Screening Resources (ESR). He has more than 35 years of management experience in regulated industry compliance matters. He has extensive experience in background screening operations, legal compliance, and is an active participant in the National Association of Professional Background Screeners (NAPBS).
