Does your organization have a convicted criminal or registered sex offender within its workforce or volunteers? Statistically, as many as one in ten individuals applying for a position can have a criminal record. What due diligence are you providing for your organization to ensure a safe workplace for everyone?
ESR, your Safe Hiring Partner, provides background screening solutions for Church and Volunteer organizations of all types and sizes by checking available resources such as sex offender registries, county courts, and utilizing an address information manager as a pointer for additional locations to check for criminal records.
ESR has been rated the Top Screening Firm in the U.S. according to an independent ranking of the industry. ESR wrote the definitive book on employment screening, “The Safe Hiring Manual.”
By partnering with LawRoom, the leading experts on online training, a Church or volunteer group more effectively manages the screening process by: Combining an online course on Shielding the Vulnerable with screening.
Save time and money by having the volunteers go online and enter their own data.
Creating a “disbarment” list so all of your offices know if they are dealing with a person that has been previously rejected.

ABC News Lawsuits Inaccurate Criminal Reports from Database Searches
* All searches are based on using Date of Birth as an identifier. Currently, the states that redact this information are limited to AZ, HI, IN, LA, MA, VA, WA, WI, while PA and NV take a third approach and release the offender’s year of birth only. An additional search is required in these states:
# Some courts charge a fee to access their public records. All states impose charges for motor vehicle records. Some schools also charge fees for verifications and some have designated for profit third parties (NSCH, DegreeCheck, etc…) to provide their verifications. Finally, there are third party employer verification services (WNFE, EVS, The Verifier, etc...) which also charge fees. Prices for services DO NOT INCLUDE any applicable handling fees imposed by ESR for any non-automated third party fees, such as above.
Statewide searches are not available in all states and are not always all inclusive of all counties.
IMPORTANT NOTICE: The Safe Hire Screening Program is NOT the same as an FBI search or state fingerprint program. State (public) and private proprietary databases are compiled from a number of sources and may not be accurate or complete. The appearance of a person’s name is not an indication that the person is a criminal any more than the absence of name indicates that the person is not a criminal. Any positive match MUST be verified by reviewing the actual court records. Any lack of a match does not mean the person is “cleared.” Alias names are not included in any of the services mentioned and need to be searched independently.
