However, an employer utilizing this service who needs a credit reports can direct applicants to obtain their own credit reports by going to www.annualcreditreport.com, the site set up to allow consumers to access a free copy of his or her credit report from each of the three major credit bureaus once a year.
Additional Details: For emerging, small and medium businesses that do not hire in large numbers, background screening has been a problem. Many screenings firm are not able to give small businesses their full attention. For a small business to order online. they must often use a complicated ordering system that is difficult to remember if not used frequently Often time, the bill is a big surprise, if extra fees are tacked on for court costs or third party fees from employers or schools or former names are also searched However, by utilizing the ESR Small Business Division, a small or medium business can now have all of the service and expertise that large firms enjoy with simplified order entry and complete control over costs. The small business can decide how extensive to make the search AND know the exact cost before the order is placed. If the search shows that there were additional places that could be checked, or additional names to search under, the business can decide if they want to perform and expanded search. Unlike web sites that are purely online data ordering sites with no one to talk to, ESR background specialists are available for consultation as part of the service. As further protection, ESR does not research or supply a social security number that is different then the socal security number submitted by the applicant pursuant to the applicant's written consent.
