Statewide criminal searches

ESR is pleased to offer the most comprehensive statewide searches currently available. The advantage of these searches is that they cover a much larger geographical area then traditional county-level searches.

However, it is critical to understand that statewide databases searches are a research tool only, and under no circumstances is a substitute for a hands-on search at the county level. Databases in each state are compiled from a number of various sources. There are a number of reasons that database information may not be accurate. Because of the nature of databases, the appearance of a person's name on a database is not an indication the person is criminal any more then the absence of a name shows they are not a criminal. Any positive match MUST be verified by reviewing the actual court records. However, a database is a valuable tool in helping employers cover a wider area and know where to search.

Alabama Corrections – Non-instant Search

Statewide Criminal Convictions Searches are conducted through a statewide system as made available by various state agencies. These records include persons guilty of felonies and some state-level misdemeanors. Results show at minimum: the case #, charge(s), dispositions and sentence term and go back at least seven years.

Alaska Courts

This database contains current and historical felony and misdemeanor records of individuals who are or have been under the jurisdiction of the Alaska Court system. Quarterly updates of the most current data available are provided. These records date back at least seven years.

Arizona Courts

This database contains current and historical conviction and arrest records of individuals who are or have been under the jurisdiction of the Arizona Court system. Crime classification is not provided; however, offense severity is. 135 of the 172 Justice, Municipal and Superior courts covering all 15 Arizona counties are reported in this database. As defined by the Arizona Supreme Court, Justice and Municipal courts handle minor traffic violations and minor crimes. The Superior courts handle serious criminal cases. Arizona Corrections

This database contains conviction records on individuals that are or have been under the supervision of the Arizona Department of Corrections. The data is comprised of current and historical felony information dating back to 1985. The jurisdiction provides monthly updates of the most current data available.

Arkansas Courts

This database contains current and historical felony and misdemeanor conviction and arrest records of individuals who are or have been under the jurisdiction of the Arkansas Court system. These records date back at least seven years. Monthly updates of the most current data available are provided.

California Court Index

This database is presented as a name index of criminal case records. The database contains felony and misdemeanor cases but the classification is generally not provided. There are very few disposition dates provided. Most records go back at least 7 years; however, San Bernardino County reflects only six years. 25 courts from the following 15 of California's most populated counties are represented with varying date ranges. The 15 counties are: Contra Costa, Fresno, Indio, Los Angeles, Marin, Orange, Riverside, Sacramento, San Bernardino, San Diego, San Luis Obispo, San Mateo, Santa Barbara, Santa Clara and Ventura. Due to sporadic court reporting, accuracy and currency cannot be warranted. Further verification for any name match is strongly recommended.

Connecticut Courts

This database contains current and historical felony, misdemeanor, infraction, violation and probation records of individuals who are or have been under the jurisdiction of the Connecticut Court system. These records date back at least seven years. Monthly updates of the most current data available are provided.

Connecticut Traffic Court

This database contains current and historical felony and misdemeanor records of individuals who are or have been under the jurisdiction of the Connecticut Traffic Court system. Monthly updates of the most current data available are provided. These records date back at least seven years.

Colorado – (Takes up to three days)

The Colorado Courts Database contains millions of up-to-the-minute court records in four major case categories: Criminal, Civil, Traffic and Domestic Relations. Certain cases on the database date to the 1960s. (County-by-county coverage list available available). The database is the publicly available portion of the Integrated Colorado On-Line Network, or ICON, which is the official electronic courts repository of the Colorado Judicial Branch. ICON’s predecessor systems date to 1978. The official custodian of ICON is the State Court Administrator’s Office, which is the administrative arm of the Judicial Branch.

District of Columbia Corrections

This database contains records of "The current sentenced population, those who have been sent out to parole status, and those who have been released due to expiration of sentence since January 1, 1999. ...Important to note that many of our inmates are not released by us, sentenced felons are transferred to FBOP custody." Florida Statewide
Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) search. Provided through the state of Florida. Not recommended as a substitute for a county-by-county level of search of each relevant county.

Florida Corrections

This database contains data on individuals who have been sentenced to serve time or community service, or have received suspended sentences or probation under the supervision of the Florida Department of Corrections. The data is comprised of current and historical felony and misdemeanor information dating back at least seven years. This jurisdiction provides monthly updates of the most current data available.

Florida Courts

This database currently contains data on individuals who have been sentenced to serve time or community service or have received suspended sentences or probation. This database contains criminal court reports from 59 of the 67 counties in Florida. We are currently in the process of obtaining the data from the counties that are not included in this database.

Florida Palm Beach County Courts

This database contains current and historical arrest records of individuals who are or have been arrested in Palm Beach County since 4-1-99. Monthly updates of the most current data available are provided.

Florida Pinellas County Courts

This database contains current and historical arrest and conviction records of individuals who are or have been under the jurisdiction of the county court system of Pinellas County, Florida. Monthly updates of the most current data available are provided. Date Range: 10-15-51 to most recent update.

Florida Suwannee County Courts

This database contains current and historical arrest and conviction records of felonies, misdemeanors and infractions of individuals who are or have been under the jurisdiction of the county court system of Suwannee County, Florida. Monthly updates of the most current data available are provided. These records go back at least five years.

This repository is a list of all foreign nationals (individuals and entities) that the United States government currently has sanctions against; whose property may be blocked; and whom no US person may have dealings with. Additionally, no US person may deal with any Libyan or Iraqi government official regardless of their inclusion on or exclusion from this list. The information contained herein may include one or more of the following: date of birth, place of birth, passport number and country, citizenship or US-SSN, employment or group membership or affiliation. The Department of the Treasury, Office of Foreign Asset Control provides periodic updates.

Georgia Statewide—A statewide search though the Georgia central repository for criminal records. Not recommended as a substitute for a county-by-county level of search of each relevant county.

This repository contains data on inmates and probationers that are or have been under the supervision of The Georgia Department of Corrections or The Georgia Board of Pardons and Paroles. This data is comprised of current and historical felony and misdemeanor information dating back at least seven years. While this database currently contains some misdemeanor information (on convicted felons only), the State of Georgia is in the process of purging misdemeanor data from their files. According to the State these records contain information pertaining to a maximum of ten offenses. The data from Fulton and DeKalb counties was not provided for approximately ten years beginning in December of 1974. This jurisdiction provides monthly updates of the most current data available.

Idaho Corrections

This database contains current and historical felony information on individuals who are or have been under the supervision of the Idaho Department of Corrections. Additionally, there is some limited misdemeanor reporting. This jurisdiction provides semi-annual updates of the most current data available.

Illinois Archived Corrections

This is a historical archived database containing information on individuals who were under the supervision of the Illinois Department of Corrections prior to 1994. The data is comprised of felony as well as limited misdemeanor information. For records post 1994 see database labeled Illinois Corrections.

Illinois Corrections

This database contains current and historical information on individuals who are or have been under the supervision of the Illinois Department of Corrections. The data is comprised of felony as well as limited misdemeanor information dating back at least seven years. Historical conviction is provided, but only the latest incarceration information is available. Parole information will only be returned on individuals currently on parole. The jurisdiction provides quarterly updates of the most current data available.

Indiana Corrections

This database contains current and historical felony and misdemeanor information for individuals that are or have been under the supervision of the Indiana Department of Corrections. This jurisdiction provides monthly updates with the most current data available. These records date back at least seven years.

This database contains current and historical felony and misdemeanor conviction records for individuals who are or have been under the supervision of the Iowa Department of Corrections. This jurisdiction provides monthly updates with the most current data available. These records date back at least seven years.

Kansas Corrections

This database contains current and historical felony and misdemeanor conviction information for individuals that are or have been under the supervision of the Kansas Department of Corrections. These records date back at least seven years. This jurisdiction provides monthly updates of the most current data available.

Kentucky Corrections

This database contains current and historical felony information for individuals that are or have been under the supervision of the Kentucky Department of Corrections. Probationer and parolee information is limited to current status only. Offenders may have more than one offender number. These records date back at least seven years. Maryland Corrections – Available in Statewide Search; not available in C.O.P.S.

This repository contains historical data of individuals within the Maryland Division of Corrections and offenders supervised by the Division of Parole & Probation.

Maine Corrections

This database contains current and historical felony and misdemeanor information for persons who are or have been under the supervision of the Maine Department of Corrections. This jurisdiction provides monthly updates of the most current data available. These records date back at least seven years.

Michigan Corrections

This database contains statewide current and historical felony conviction and parole information on individuals that are or have been under the supervision of the Michigan Department of Corrections. Quarterly updates of the most current data available are provided. This data goes back at least seven years.

Minnesota Corrections

This database contains current and historical felony conviction information on individuals who are or have been under the supervision of the Minnesota Department of Corrections since this database was implemented in 1979. It contains one record for each adult offender. Starting in October of 1998 probation information has not been entered in this database. This database dates back at least seven years. This jurisdiction provides monthly updates of the most current data available.

Minnesota Courts

This database contains the most comprehensive current and historical felony and misdemeanor information on individuals reported from and maintained by the State of Minnesota. This data dates back a maximum of fifteen years from final discharge date. This jurisdiction provides monthly updates of the most current data available.

Mississippi Corrections

This database contains statewide information on inmates, parolees, and probationers that are or have been under the supervision of The Mississippi Department of Corrections. The data is comprised of current and historical felony information dating back at least seven years. According to the state these records contain up to three offenses per incident. This jurisdiction provides monthly updates of the most current data available.

Missouri Corrections

This database contains current and historical felony and misdemeanor information for inmates and probationers and parolees that are or have been under the supervision of the Missouri Department of Corrections. NOTE: Only the latest incident is reported; therefore, history is limited to the offender's latest offense. This jurisdiction provides monthly updates of the most current data available. This data dates back at least seven years.

Montana Corrections

This repository contains current and historical felony and misdemeanor conviction records for individuals that are or have been under the supervision of the Montana Department of Corrections. These records date back at least seven years. This jurisdiction provides monthly updates with the most current data available.

Nebraska Corrections

This database contains conviction records on individuals that are or have been under the supervision of the Nebraska Department of Corrections. The data is comprised of current and historical felony, misdemeanor and parole information dating back at least seven years. The jurisdiction provides monthly updates of the most current data available.

Nevada Corrections

This database contains current and historical felony and misdemeanor conviction records of individuals who are or have been under the jurisdiction of the Department of Corrections and Division of Parole and Probation for the state of Nevada since 1999. Offense history before 1999 is limited to those offenders who received parole or probation. Quarterly updates of the most current data available are provided. Date Range: 12-15-1976 to most recent update.

New Jersey Corrections

This database contains current felony conviction and parole information for inmates under the supervision of the New Jersey Department of Corrections. These records date back at least seven years; and historical information is available from 1-1-2000. This jurisdiction provides semi-annual updates of the most current data available.

New Jersey Archived Corrections

This database contains data on individuals who are or have been under the supervision of the New Jersey Department of Corrections. The data is comprised of historical felony information.

New Jersey Courts

This database contains current and historical felony and some misdemeanor conviction offenses by degree of persons who are or have been under the jurisdiction of the New Jersey Court system. Misdemeanor offenses are provided only if they where part of a case that contained a felony. These records date back at least seven years. Monthly updates of the most current data available are provided.

Statewide Felony & Misdemeanor Searches are conducted through a statewide system as made available by the state. Results contain information submitted to the State by courts from each county and other criminal justice agencies.

New York Corrections

This database contains felony information on individuals who are or have been under the jurisdiction of the New York Department of Correctional Services. The information concerns current inmates and those individuals who have been released, discharged or placed on probation or parole since January 1990. The jurisdiction provides quarterly updates of the most current data available.

North Carolina Statewide—Offered through a database maintained by the North Carolina courts. For maximum accuracy, a county level search is still recommended.

North Carolina Corrections

This database contains statewide current and historical felony, parole and probation, and some misdemeanor information for individuals that are or have been under the supervision of the North Carolina Department of Corrections. The data dates back at least seven years. This jurisdiction provides monthly updates of the most current data available.

Ohio Corrections

This database contains statewide current and historical felony and some misdemeanor information along with parole information on individuals that are or have been under the supervision of the Ohio Department of Corrections. Offender numbers relate to specific offenses; therefore, an individual may have multiple offender numbers. The jurisdiction provides monthly updates of the most current data available. This data goes back at least seven years.

Oklahoma Corrections

This database is comprised of current and historical information on persons who are or have been under the supervision of the Oklahoma Department of Corrections. This jurisdiction provides monthly updates of the most current data available. This data goes back at least seven years.

Oregon Corrections

This database contains statewide current and historical felony, misdemeanor and probation information for individuals that are or have been under the supervision of the Oregon Department of Corrections. These records date back at least seven years. This jurisdiction provides monthly updates of the most current data available.

Pennsylvania Courts – Available in Statewide Search; not available in C.O.P.S.

This database contains current and historical felony, misdemeanor and summary conviction and arrest records of individuals who are or have been under the jurisdiction of the Pennsylvania Court system with the exception of Philadelphia County. The data dates back at least seven years. Monthly updates of the most current data available are provided.

This database contains current and historical felony, misdemeanor conviction and arrest records of individuals who are or have been under the jurisdiction of the Pennsylvania Court system with the exception of Philadelphia county.

Rhode Island Courts

This database contains current and historical felony and some misdemeanor conviction and arrest records of persons who are or have been under the jurisdiction of the Rhode Island Court system. Superior court and District court 6 records date back to the 1980's. Other District court records vary from mid to late 1990's. Monthly updates of the most current data available are provided.

This database contains registered sex offenders with felony conviction records. The data has been compiled from sex offender registries in 29 states. However, this database is not intended in any way as an official record of what a person is a sexual offender. Because of the nature of databases, the appearance of a person's name on a database is not an indication the person is criminal any more then the absence of a name shows they are not a criminal. The majorities of the states in this compiled database only provide quarterly updates or report only the most serious sex offenders; further investigation via statewide criminal record databases or county level research is strongly recommended. ESR strongly recommends that any positive results (hits) reported from this database be confirmed prior to returning the results to an end-user. Updates of this sex offender registry database reflect the most current and accurate information available to us. However, some offenders' names may have been removed from the state's registry after the latest update. States Included: AK,AL,AZ,DC,DE,FL,GA,IA,IL,IN,KS,LA,MD,MI,MN,MS,ND,NE,NM,NY,OK,SC,TN,TX,UT,VA,WA,WV,WY.

South Carolina Corrections

This database contains current and historical felony and misdemeanor information on the most serious offense of individuals who are or have been under the jurisdiction of the South Carolina Department of Corrections. The data dates back at least seven years. The jurisdiction provides monthly updates of the most current data available.

Tennessee Corrections

This database contains current and historical felony information for inmates and probationers and parolees that are or have been under the supervision of the Tennessee Department of Corrections. This jurisdiction provides monthly updates of the most current data available.

Tennessee Courts

This database contains current and historical felony information for individuals that are or have been under the jurisdiction of the Tennessee Court System. Monthly updates of the most current data available are provided. These records date back at least seven years.

Tennessee Supplemental Courts

This database contains current and historical felony and misdemeanor information provided by the Court System of Tennessee. Monthly updates of the most current data available are provided. These records date back at least seven years. NOTE: Currently we do not have misdemeanor records from Shelby County.

Texas Courts

This database contains current and historical felony and Class A and B misdemeanor conviction records of individuals who are or have been under the jurisdiction of the Texas Court system. These records date back at least seven years. Monthly updates of the most current data available are provided.

Texas Sex Offender Registry

This database contains current and historical felony information for offenders registered in the Texas Sex Offender Registry. The Texas Department of Public Safety provides monthly updates of the most current data available. These records date back at least seven years.

Utah Corrections

This database contains conviction records on individuals that are or have been under the supervision of the Utah Department of Corrections. The data is comprised of current and historical felony and Class A and B misdemeanor conviction, probation and parole records dating back at least seven years. The jurisdiction provides monthly updates of the most current data available.

Utah Courts

This database contains current and historical felony and misdemeanor information on individuals who are or have been under the jurisdiction of the Utah Court system. The data dates back at least seven years. Monthly updates of the most current data available are provided.

Virginia Courts

This database contains statewide and/or county-level current and historical felony and misdemeanor dispositions, including motor vehicle citations of individuals who are or have been under the supervision of the Virginia General District or Circuit Courts. This jurisdiction provides monthly updates of the most current data available. NOTE: These records are from all Virginia counties and independent municipalities except: FAIRFAX--(Circuit Court) This information is provided in a separate database. Virginia Fairfax County Archived District Court

This database contains current and historical conviction records of individuals who are or have been under the jurisdiction of the county circuit court system of Fairfax County, Virginia. Monthly updates of the most current data available are provided. The records go back at least seven years.

This database contains historical criminal records of individuals who have been under the jurisdiction of the county district court system of Fairfax County, Virginia. This is data not contained in the Virginia Court database and covers the time period from 1-1-1992 to 1-12-2001. A quarterly update is provided to delete expunged cases. The updates date back 10 years from the date of the update.

Virginia Traffic

This database contains current and historical felony and misdemeanor arrest and conviction records of individuals who are or have been under the jurisdiction of the Virginia Traffic Court system. Monthly updates of the most current data available are provided. These records date back at least seven years.

Washington CLJ Courts

This database contains current Washington Courts of Limited Jurisdiction criminal-traffic and criminal-non-traffic cases. History is comprised of cases that were disposed within the prior five years. Quarterly updates of the most current data available are provided.

Washington Corrections

This conviction database contains current and historical statewide felony and misdemeanor information for inmates, probationers and parolees who are or have been under the supervision of the Washington Department of Corrections. The jurisdiction provides monthly updates of the most current data available. These records date back at least seven years.

Washington SUP Courts

This database contains current felony and misdemeanor records of individuals appearing in the Washington State Supreme Court. History is comprised of cases that were disposed within the prior five years. Quarterly updates of the most current data available are provided.

Wisconsin Corrections

This database contains historical felony conviction information for individuals that are or have been under the supervision of the Wisconsin Department of Corrections. This historical information covers all inmates under institution supervision on January 1, 1990 through November 30, 2001. The jurisdiction is currently not providing updates.

Wisconsin Courts

This database contains current and historical felony and some misdemeanor conviction records of individuals who are or have been under the jurisdiction of the Wisconsin Court system. 69 of 72 counties reported to this database. The missing counties are: Outagamie, Portage and Walworth. These records date back at least seven years.
