According to Rosen, there are several pitfalls employers should try to avoid when hiring that range from fake diplomas to discrimination lawsuits. The webinar lists the following eight shocking facts about hiring and employment screening:

- Shocking Fact #7: Job applicants can go to websites offering personalized Job Reference Services and – for a fee – purchase a career history complete with employer references and fake company websites.
- Shocking Fact #8: Thanks to “diploma mills” that make fake degrees from phony universities available for purchase, all job applicants need these days to get proof of a college education is a printer and a credit card.
