Courts in New Jersey and Delaware – as well as courts in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania – are closed today, Wednesday, January 22, 2014, due to snow from Winter Storm Janus, according to the County House Research, Inc. - New Jersey (http://www.judiciary.state.nj.us/): WINTER WEATHER ALERT: All state courts and state court offices will be closed today, Wednesday, Jan. 22.
- Delaware (http://courts.delaware.gov/): Due to inclement weather, the Court of Chancery, Superior Court, Family Court, and Court of Common Pleas are closed statewide on Wednesday, January 22, 2014. The New Castle County Courthouse, Kent County Courthouse, and Supreme Court in Wilmington are closed. All Justice of the Peace Courts are closed with the exception of the 24-hour Courts (3, 7 and 11). Supreme Court oral arguments for 1/22 are postponed.
- Philadelphia, PA (http://courts.phila.gov/): Special Weather Advisory: All Courts and Offices of the Philadelphia Courts will be CLOSED Wednesday January 22, 2014 due to inclement weather. All critical Court services are expected to remain operational. Municipal Court Preliminary Arraignment Court, Bail Acceptance, Emergency Protection From Abuse, and the Warrant Unit will remain open.
