On April 25, 2012, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) approved updated Enforcement Guidance on the Consideration of Arrest and Conviction Records in Employment Decisions Under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. “This updated EEOC guidance will have a profound impact on how employers in America hire,” says Rosen.
Since the EEOC has already filed lawsuits against employers for the discriminatory use of criminal records, Rosen will show how HR professionals may demonstrate compliance with the EEOC guidance by following a set of practical steps that identify potential problem areas.
