As reported by the Santa Rosa Press Democrat, the fire in the Lake County, California area – also known as the “Valley Fire” – has killed three people, destroyed almost 600 homes, and burned more than 75,000 acres that included hot springs, wineries, and vineyards. More than 2,700 firefighters are battling the blaze. Complete coverage of the Lake County fire is available on the Press Democrat website at http://www.pressdemocrat.com/wildfire.

The devastation of the Lake County fire hits particularly close to home for Employment Screening Resources (ESR) because ESR has offices located within 30 miles of the blaze and ESR employees know families who have been displaced either because they have been evacuated or their homes were burned. Many people and pets are in dire need of assistance.

A local bank, Redwood Credit Union (RCU), is accepting financial donations to the Lake County Fire Victims Fund to aid relief efforts and assist individuals and families impacted by fires in the Lake County area of Northern California. RCU states that 100 percent of the donations will go directly to aid victims and relief efforts in the Lake County communities affected by the fires. Donations are being accepted at https://www.redwoodcu.org/about-rcu/news-announcements-specials/rockyfire.

Donations to the Lake County Fire Victims Fund will also be accepted in any of Redwood Credit Union’s 16 North Bay and San Francisco branches and by mailing a check payable to the “Lake County Fire Victims Fund” to: RCU Lake County Fire Relief c/o Redwood Credit Union, PO Box 6104, Santa Rosa, CA 95406. RCU thanks all people donating to the Lake County Fire Victims Fund for their support.

Employment Screening Resources (ESR) is making a donation to a local charity to assist in purchasing much needed supplies and encourages companies to do what they can to help the victims of this fire. Employees in our Santa Rosa office are actively involved with local activities to help those affected by this fire.

Remember to properly vet any charity or group you want to give donations to while helping the victims of this fire. Thank you from ESR.
