To help employers comply with the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) Guidance on the use of criminal records, Attorney Lester Rosen, founder and CEO of background check firm Employment Screening Resources (ESR), will present a live webinar with Aurora Training Advantage entitled “EEOC Criminal Records Update” on February 25, 2016 from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM EST (11:00 AM to 12:30 PM PST).
On April 25, 2012, the EEOC – the agency that enforces federal laws prohibiting employment discrimination – issued updated “Enforcement Guidance on the Consideration of Arrest and Conviction Records in Employment Decisions Under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.” The agenda for the webinar on the EEOC Guidance, which has had a profound impact on how employers in America hire, will include:
- Longstanding court decisions and existing EEOC Guidance documents.
- Employer defenses the EEOC believes meet the “job related and consistent with business necessity” standard.
- EEOC Guidance best practices for employers.
- The Good, the Maybe and the Challenging stemming from the new EEOC Guidance.
During the 90 minute webinar, Rosen will go beyond simply repeating EEOC Guidance language and give “real world” examples on what employers should do to remain in compliance while performing criminal background checks. Attendees will have items to implement immediately to demonstrate EEOC compliance. To register for the webinar, visit http://auroratrainingadvantage.com/webinars/eeoc-criminal-records-update/.
