Brad Landin, president and chief compliance officer (CCO) at Employment Screening Resources® (ESR), a global background check firm headquartered in Novato, California, will speak at a Marin County Employer Advisory Council (EAC) event entitled “Documenting the Employer Employee Relationship and Pre-employment Inquiries” on Wednesday, July 19, 2017. Landin will present the session “Background Screening 101 for California Businesses” to show attendees how to conduct employment purpose background checks in line with the federal Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), California’s Investigative Consumer Reporting Agencies Act (ICRAA), and regulations under the California Fair Employment and Housing Council (FEHC) that took effect on July 1, 2017.
Landin has more than 35 years of management experience and 25 years of experience in regulated industry compliance matters. He joined Employment Screening Resources® (ESR) in April of 2011 and assumed the role of President in September of 2011. He has extensive experience in background screening operations and is an active participant in the National Association of Professional Background Screeners (NAPBS).
Landin will be one of two speakers at the event. The other, John F. Hyland, will present a session entitled “The Employment Relationship: Knowing What, How, and When to Document.” The information presented at the Marin County EAC event will provide guidance on how to legally conduct employee background checks in California and will be an interactive presentation that encourages questions.
