In the webinar, Rosen and Standerwick will explore the legal aspects and best practices a company should consider when using social media to select and screen candidates. While leveraging social media for sourcing, recruiting, and employer branding is a hot topic for many companies, employers need to be aware of the potential dangers before jumping onto the internet. What might seem like a strategic use of social media could be a fast track to litigation, governmental investigations, and bad press.
Rosen is the author of “The Safe Hiring Manual,” the first comprehensive guide to background checks. He was the chairperson of the steering committee that founded the National Association of Professional Background Screeners (NAPBS), a professional trade organization for the background screening industry, and served as the co-chair. He is a frequent presenter nationwide on background screening issues and has made numerous speaking appearances. He founded ESR in the San Francisco Bay area in 1997.
Standerwick is a seasoned background screening industry professional with 25 years of experience who has extensive knowledge of background screening, drug testing, and occupational health testing. She is a long time member of the Board of Directors for the NAPBS and was elected Chair of the NAPBS for the 2016-17 term. She is actively involved on the NAPBS government relations committee and participates in legislative advocacy efforts on behalf of the association. She joined ESR in April of 2015.
