Attorney Lester Rosen, founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of background check firm Employment Screening Resources® (ESR), will host a live webinar entitled “Hire Slow and Fire Fast and other Hiring Tips and Tools” on Thursday, March 7, 2019, from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM Pacific Standard Time.

The 90-minute webinar will show how there are two fundamental mistakes employers make when it comes to hiring and firing. First, many employers hard pressed to fill positions are in such a rush to hire they make an offer to the best available candidate just to fill the position instead of waiting for the right candidate.
The other mistake is that employers are often slow to fire. The fear of firing leads many employers to suffer through the long process of trying to make a bad hire work. Sometimes an employer will keep someone who seems essential, even though in reality it is in everyone’s best interest to part ways.
The solution is simple. Employers need to adopt a policy of hiring slow and firing fast. The webinar presented by Aurora Training Advantage will explain the advantages of the “hire slow and fire fast” approach, examine why employers resist this approach, and include the following learning objectives:
- Being able to explain why employers make bad hires or fail to hire.
- Being able to identify easy mechanical fixes, hacks, and solutions that an employer, recruiters, Human Resources (HR), and hiring managers can adopt very quickly.
- Being able to discuss the reason why – despite the availability of these fixes and numerous employer tools and third-party resources – some organizations cannot hire the right people.
- Being able to recognize the importance of analyzing an organization and what it really needs as the key element in successful hiring.
The webinar will explore the purpose of understanding how to analyze hires so that employers can hire, fire, retain, and promote around a common set of core organizational values. The webinar will also examine other hiring tips and tools that are essential when hiring in an economy with low unemployment.
The webinar is approved for 1.5 recertification credit hours toward general recertification through the HR Certification Institute (HRCI) and is also approved by the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM) to be valid for 1.5 Professional Development Credits (PDCs) for the SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP.
