The percentage of employees in the U.S. workforce receiving positive results in workplace drug tests has steadily increased over the last three years to reach the highest level in 10 years, according to an analysis of nearly 11 million workforce drug tests released by Quest Diagnostics. SUNY to Ban the Box for Criminal Convictions on Student Applications

The State University of New York (SUNY) – a system of public institutions of higher education in New York state – has voted to pass a Ban the Box resolution to adopt a policy that will eliminate questions about criminal records on applications filled out by students wishing to attend any of the SUNY schools in New York, according to a memorandum to Members of the SUNY Board of Trustees. The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) is seeking public comment on the Disposal Rule formally known as the ‘Disposal of Consumer Report Information and Records Rule’ which implements part of the Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act of 2003 (FACTA) by requiring consumer report information for business purposes to be properly disposed of through reasonable measures to protect that data from unauthorized access, according to an FTC press release.
