The California Supreme Court will review a California Court of Appeal decision in the case of Connor v. First Student, Inc. which held the Investigative Consumer Reporting Agencies Act (ICRAA) “is not unconstitutionally vague” when applied to background checks on employees that are subject to both the ICRAA and the Consumer Credit Reporting Agencies Act (CCRRA). Portland OR Joins Ban the Box Movement

The Portland (Oregon) City Council has unanimously passed a “Ban the Box” ordinance that will prevent employers from asking job applicants about their conviction history on applications or during interviews in order to eliminate barriers to employment for applicants with criminal backgrounds.
