EU Commission Recommends 13 Improvements for US Safe Harbor Data Protection Program

The European Union (EU) Commission has reviewed the U.S. Safe Harbor data protection program on transfers of personal information to the United States and will either modify, suspend, or revoke its Safe Harbor decision by summer 2014 based on progress made on EU Commission’s 13 recommendations for improvements. Resume Fraud in India Shows Need for International Background Screening

Puzzled as to why a large amount of job seekers listed the same previous employer on their CV (Curriculum Vitae) – a type of resume in India – managers of a New Delhi IT company used a background screening firm to discover the “employer” was a fake IT firm falsifying past work experience for money. December 2013 Employment Situation Report Shows Gain of Only 74000 Jobs

Total nonfarm employment in the United States edged up by only 74,000 jobs in December 2013 while the unemployment rate declined from 7 percent to 6.7 percent and the number of unemployed persons dropped from 10.9 million to 10.4 million, according to ‘THE EMPLOYMENT SITUATION — DECEMBER 2013’ released today by the U.S. Department of Labor’s Bureau of Labor Statistics. New and Revised E-Verify Memorandums of Understanding Now Effective for Existing Users

In December 2013, the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) released new and revised Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) related to the E-Verify electronic employment eligibility verification program. The MOUs have a revision date of June 1, 2013 that may be found at the bottom of each MOU page. The revised MOUs became effective for new users on December 8, 2013.
