February 2014 Employment Report: 175000 Jobs Added

homepage-checkTotal nonfarm employment in the United States increased by 175,000 jobs in February 2014 while the unemployment rate climbed to 6.7 percent and the number of unemployed persons reached 10.5 million, according to ‘THE EMPLOYMENT SITUATION — FEBRUARY 2014’ released today by the U.S. Department of Labor’s Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS). Over the year, the number of unemployed persons and the unemployment rate were down by 1.6 million and 1.0

Identity Theft Tops Federal Trade Commission List of Consumer Complaints

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has announced that identity theft has topped the list of national consumer complaints once again for 2013 and that U.S. consumers reported losing more than $1.6 billion to fraud overall. The FTC’s Consumer Sentinel Network (CSN) Data Book 2013 found that 290,056 of the more than two million complaints received – 14 percent – were identity theft related.
