November 2012 BLS Employment Report Shows 146000 Jobs Added while ADP Report Estimates 118000 Jobs Gained

Total nonfarm payroll employment in the United States increased by 146,000 jobs in November 2012 and the unemployment rate dropped to 7.7 percent from 7.9 percent, according to ‘THE EMPLOYMENT SITUATION — NOVEMBER 2012’ released by the U.S. Department of Labor’s Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS). Workplace Violence Accounts for Nearly One in Every Five Fatal Work Injuries in US

Preliminary statistics from the 2011 Census of Fatal Occupational Injuries (CFOI) program conducted by the U.S. Department of Labor’s Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) reveal that nearly one in every five fatal work injuries was attributed not to accidents but to workplace violence. The CFOI found that of the 4,609 total fatal work injuries recorded in the United States in 2011, 780 fatalities – or nearly 17 percent – were a result of violence and other injuries by persons or animals. October 2012 Employment Situation Report from Bureau of Labor Statistics Shows 171000 Jobs Added

Workplace Violence Observed or Experienced by One in Eight Federal Workers According to MSPB Report

According to a report from the U.S. Merit Systems Protection Board (MSPB) ‘Employee Perceptions of Federal Workplace Violence,’ approximately 13 percent of Federal employees – about one in eight – observed or experienced workplace violence between 2008 and 2010. August 2012 BLS Employment Report Shows 96000 Jobs Added while ADP Employment Report Finds 201000 Jobs Gained

Two employment reports released this week differed noticeably in calculating the number of jobs created in August 2012. ‘THE EMPLOYMENT SITUATION — AUGUST 2012’ released today by the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) reported total nonfarm payroll employment in the United States rose by 96,000 jobs while the August 2012 ADP National Employment Report® from Automatic Data Processing, Inc. (ADP®) released Thursday found employment in the U.S. nonfarm private business sector increased by 201,000 jobs. June 2012 Employment Situation Report Shows US Economy Edged Up 80000 Jobs

According to ‘THE EMPLOYMENT SITUATION — JUNE 2012’ released today by the U.S. Department of Labor’s (DOL) Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), total nonfarm payroll employment in the U.S. edged up 80,000 jobs in June 2012 while the unemployment rate remained unchanged at 8.2 percent and the number of unemployed persons was also essentially unchanged at 12.7 million. May 2012 Employment Situation Report Shows US Economy Added Only 69000 Jobs

Total nonfarm payroll employment in the U.S. added only 69,000 jobs in May 2012 while the unemployment rate rose to 8.2 percent, according to ‘THE EMPLOYMENT SITUATION — MAY 2012’ released today by the U.S. Department of Labor’s Bureau of Labor Statistics. The May 2012 report also revised the change in employment for April 2012 from 115,000 jobs added down to 77,000 jobs and figures for March 2012 were revised from 154,000 jobs added down to 143,000 jobs. Revised 2010 Census of Fatal Occupational Injuries Shows One Out of Ten Workplace Deaths Attributed to Homicide

According to the revised numbers reflecting updates to the 2010 Census of Fatal Occupational Injuries (CFOI) conducted by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), the final count of fatal work injuries in the United States in 2010 was 4,690, up from the preliminary count of 4,547, with 518 of those deaths, up from  506, caused by workplace homicides. These figures mean approximately 11 percent of workplace deaths – more than one out of ten – were attributed to homicide.
