December 2012 BLS Employment Report Estimates 155000 Jobs Gained while ADP Report Reveals 215000 Jobs Added

Total nonfarm payroll employment in the United States rose by 155,000 jobs in December 2012, bringing the total number of jobs created in 2012 to 1.84 million, according to ‘THE EMPLOYMENT SITUATION — DECEMBER 2012’ released by the U.S. Department of Labor’s Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) today. The report also found the unemployment rate remained largely unchanged at 7.8 percent while the number of unemployed people, at 12.2 million, also was little changed during the month. November 2012 BLS Employment Report Shows 146000 Jobs Added while ADP Report Estimates 118000 Jobs Gained

Total nonfarm payroll employment in the United States increased by 146,000 jobs in November 2012 and the unemployment rate dropped to 7.7 percent from 7.9 percent, according to ‘THE EMPLOYMENT SITUATION — NOVEMBER 2012’ released by the U.S. Department of Labor’s Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS). Long Term Unemployment Worse Than Having a Criminal Record for Job Candidates Survey Finds

An anonymous survey of 1,500 recruiters and hiring managers found it was less difficult to place a job candidate with a non-felony criminal record in a new job than a long term unemployed candidate out of work for more than two years. Two employment reports released this week differed noticeably in calculating the number of jobs created in August 2012. ‘THE EMPLOYMENT SITUATION — AUGUST 2012’ released today by the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) reported total nonfarm payroll employment in the United States rose by 96,000 jobs while the August 2012 ADP National Employment Report® from Automatic Data Processing, Inc. (ADP®) released Thursday found employment in the U.S. nonfarm private business sector increased by 201,000 jobs.
