Starting Monday, September 18, 2017, all employers in the United States must use the revised Form I-9, Employment Eligibility Verification (Revision Date 07/17/17 N) published by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) on July 17, 2017 and available at www.uscis.gov/i-9. USCIS Publishes Revised Form I-9 on July 17

The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) published a revised version of the Form I-9, Employment Eligibility Verification on July 17, 2017. Employers will be able to use this revised version or continue using the Form I-9 with a revision date of 11/14/16 N through September 17, 2017. On September 18, 2017, employers must use the revised form with a revision date of 07/17/17 N. Employers should also continue following existing storage and retention rules for any previously completed Form I-9s. Continue reading

The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) is telling employees who used the new Form I-9, Employment Eligibility Verification downloaded between November 14, 2016 – the date the revised version of the Form I-9 was published – and November 17, 2016, to review the form to ensure Social Security numbers (SSNs) of employees appear correctly in Section 1, according to a post on the “What’s New” page in the I-9 Central section of the USCIS website. The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (UCSIS) is helping employers using E-Verify for more than 10 years by issuing “Instructions to Download Historic Records Reports in E-Verify” to retain case information by downloading the new Historic Records Reports containing E-Verify cases dated on or before December 31, 2006, that will be purged after March 31, 2017.
