The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) has announced it will hold a meeting on Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at 9:30 a.m. Eastern Time in the Commission Meeting Room on the First Floor of the EEOC Office Building, 131 M Street, NE, in Washington, D.C. At the meeting, the EEOC will hear publically from five roundtables of invited guests on what the agency’s priorities should be for its Strategic Enforcement Plan (SEP) over the next three years in order to have the greatest impact on combating discrimination in the workplace. The EEOC press release about the meeting, which should conclude at 4:30 p.m., is available at  In February 2012, the EEOC – the nation’s leading enforcer of federal laws prohibiting employment discrimination – approved a ‘Strategic Plan for Fiscal Years 2012-2016’ to establish a framework for achieving the EEOC’s mission to “stop and remedy unlawful employment discrimination.” The first performance measure of the Strategic Plan requires the EEOC to develop and approve the SEP to have a broad impact on reducing employment discrimination. The SEP would also lower the barrier between the EEOC’s work in the investigation stage and the litigation stage so all operations work in tandem to stop unlawful employment discrimination.
