The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) is offering six additional free educational Form I-9 webinars that highlight the new features of the revised Employment Eligibility Verification Form I-9 (Rev. 03/08/13) N that all employers must begin using by May 7, 2013. The new Form I-9 is available for immediate use by employers to comply with their employment eligibility verification responsibilities at

The free webinars hosted by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) will help inform employers of revisions to the Form I-9 that highlight the new features of the form, including the new fields and format. Participants will receive an overview of the Form I-9 process, including step by step instructions on how to complete, retain, and store the Form I-9 as well as use of the E-Verify system. The Form I-9 webinar schedule is below:

On March 8, 2013, the USCIS published a new Form I-9, Employment Eligibility Verification (Rev. 03/08/13) N for employers to use immediately for all new hires and re-verifications. Since the USCIS recognized employers may need additional time to allow for use of the new form, employers may continue to use previously accepted revisions (Rev.02/02/09) N and (Rev. 08/07/09) Y for a 60-day period until May 7, 2013.
