The conference speakers will discuss applying best practices standards developed by a team of civil rights organizations working with leading members of the background screening industry and published in a guide titled ‘Best Practices Standards: The Proper Use of Criminal Records in Hiring.’ The publication – provided to all registrants at the conference – outlines practical steps employers and background screeners can take to comply with the EEOC ‘Enforcement Guidance on the Use of Arrest and Conviction Records in Employment Decisions under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964’ updated in April 2012.
