Private sector employment in the United States increased by 215,000 jobs from October 2013 to November 2013 led by a gain of 102,000 jobs in small businesses, according to the November 2013 ADP National Employment Report® produced by Automatic Data Processing, Inc. “According to ADP National Employment Report findings, the U.S. private sector added 215,000 jobs during November making it the strongest month for job growth in 2013. The November 2013 ADP National Employment Report includes a breakdown of job growth by company size (NOTE: Sum of components in the report may not equal total due to rounding):
- Small businesses representing payrolls with 1 to 49 employees added 102,000 jobs.
- Medium businesses representing payrolls with 50 to 499 employees added 48,000 jobs.
- Large businesses representing payrolls with 500 or more employees added 65,000 jobs.
The ADP report also provides a breakdown of job growth by sector in November 2013:
- Service providing sector added 176,000 jobs.
- Goods producing sector added 40,000 jobs.
In addition, the report takes a snapshot of job growth by industries in November 2013:
- Trade/transportation/utilities added 45,000 jobs.
- Professional/business services added 38,000 jobs.
- Construction added 18,000 jobs.
- Manufacturing added 18,000 jobs.
- Financial activities added 5,000 jobs.
