USCIS Schedules Free E-Verify and Form I-9 Webinar in Spanish for January 22

On Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at 1:00 PM EST, the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) will present a free live webinar for Spanish speaking employers so they can learn about E-Verify and the Form I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification process in their native language. According to the USCIS, “U.S. law requires companies to employ only individuals who may legally work in the United States – either U.S. citizens, or foreign citizens who have the necessary authorization.” E-Verify is a free Internet-based system that allows businesses to verify the eligibility of their employees to work in the U.S. to ensure a legal workforce. During the webinar, subject matter experts from the USCIS will discuss:

• The Form I-9 process
• How E-Verify works
• How to enroll
• Employer responsibilities
