Background screening industry veteran Brad Landin, President of Employment Screening Resources® (ESR), will present a session titled ‘New Times, New Rules: The Latest on Criminal Record Guidance’ on Tuesday, April 29, 2014 from 1:45 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. PT at the Northern California Human Resources Association (NCHRA) HR West® 2014 at Oakland Convention Center in Oakland, CA. For information about HR West 2014, which runs April 28 to 30, 2014, visit http://www.hrwest.org/.
In April 2012, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) approved updated guidance documents on the use of arrest or conviction records in employment decisions. The EEOC has filed lawsuits against employers for the discriminatory use of criminal records. Landin’s HR West 2014 session (#508) will drive compliance and minimize exposure under new EEOC guidance on usage by helping attendees understand how new guidance impact hiring and take steps to demonstrate compliance.
Landin joined the Employment Screening Resources (ESR) management team in April 2011 and assumed the role of President in September 2011. He is responsible for all aspects of ESR’s strategy, operations, and finances and brings over 30 years of management experience in both private and public sectors and 20 years of experience in regulated industry compliance matters to the company. Landin has worked in the screening industry since 1999 and has extensive experience in operations and legal compliance.
