To help keep businesses productive and out of court, Employment Screening Resources (ESR) Founder and CEO Attorney Lester Rosen will speak about ‘Pre-employment Background Screening Trends and Best Practices’ at the San Francisco Employer Advisory Council (SF EAC) General Meeting on Thursday, November 6, 2014. For more information about the event – which takes place from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the City College of San Francisco (CCSF) Chinatown North Beach Campus, 808 Kearny Street, 9th Floor, Room 905 – visit http://ceac.org/region_2/san_francisco_eac/calendar_of_events/.

Employees are typically a firm’s biggest financial investment. Rosen – author of ‘The Safe Hiring Manual’ – has experience in developing effective background screening that requires expertise and in-depth knowledge of the federal and state laws. He will share legally compliant best practices for background screening, review recent legal developments and “Only in California” rules, and discuss the next cutting-edge trends. Rosen has also been involved in drafting the current California laws governing background screening. In addition he will discuss the San Francisco Ban the Box Ordinance that took effect on August 13, 2014.

A nationally recognized expert on background screening and the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), Rosen is a former criminal defense trial attorney and Deputy District Attorney.  He founded Employment Screening Resources (ESR), a Northern California-based nationwide background screening firm accredited by the National Association of Professional Background Screeners (NAPBS), in 1997 with the mission to ensure safe workplaces for employers, employees, and the public.
