SHRM 2015 Employment Law & Legislative Conference

Attorney Lester S. Rosen, Founder and CEO of Employment Screening Resources® (ESR) and author of “The Safe Hiring Manual,” will present a session titled ‘Extreme Caution Advised: Dealing with Federal and State Laws Regulating Pre-employment Screening’ at the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM®) 2015 Employment Law and Legislative Conference in Washington, D.C. on Monday, March 23, 2015 from 1:45 PM to 03:15 PM Eastern Time. The session by Rosen at the SHRM 2015 Employment Law and Legislative Conference will cover a number of laws, regulations, and lawsuits, including the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), discrimination and privacy laws, numerous state-specific rules, and the 2012 U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) guidance on criminal records that has the potential to change the way employers hire. Attendees of the session by Rosen at the SHRM 2015 Employment Law and Legislative Conference will receive updates on federal and state laws, lawsuits, and regulations related to pre-employment screening background checks.

To avoid bad hiring decisions, employers have increasingly turned to pre-employment background screening as a risk management tool. Rosen founded Employment Screening Resources (ESR) in 1997 in California and the company is accredited by the National Association of Professional Background Screeners (NAPBS). He has qualified and testified in court as an expert witness on issues surrounding safe hiring and due diligence.
