Attorney Lester Rosen to Present Session for 2020 PBSA Annual Conference

Attorney Lester Rosen, the founder and CEO of leading global background check firm Employment Screening Resources® (ESR), will present a session for the Professional Background Screening Association (PBSA) at the first ever “virtual” 2020 PBSA Annual Conference due to the ongoing Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

Rosen– author of “The Safe Hiring Manual” – will present a session titled “Serving the Gig Economy – Challenges and Opportunities for Background Screeners” that will take place from 2:15 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. on September 15, 2020. A significant number of workers are engaged in the “gig economy” and background checks part of the marketing and risk strategies used by these “platform” firms to create consumer trust. However, screening gig economy workers is more complex than it sounds and the session by Rosen will explore potential landmines and traps.

Rosen was the chairperson of the steering committee that founded the PBSA in 2003 and served as the first co-chair in 2004. In 2019, Rosen was awarded the PBSA Lifetime Achievement Award that recognizes an individual’s outstanding contributions that have advanced excellence in the background screening profession.

The 2020 PBSA Annual Conference will offer expert presenters speaking about a diverse range of educational topics that include global screening techniques, strategic business sessions, technology and information security practices, legal and compliance guidelines, legislative updates, and what is on the horizon for PBSA members.
