The Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE) – the world’s largest anti-fraud organization – is asking businesses to join the global effort to minimize the impact of fraud by promoting anti-fraud awareness and education during International Fraud Awareness Week that takes place from November 15 to 21, 2020.
Organizations worldwide lose an estimated five percent of their annual revenues to fraud, according to the 2020 ACFE Report to the Nations on Occupational Fraud and Abuse. The 11th edition of the largest global study on fraud explored the costs, schemes, victims, and perpetrators of fraud using data from 125 countries.
International Fraud Awareness Week is an opportunity for anti-fraud professionals and communities to attend online events, take a quiz to see if they know fraud facts, view a video on identity theft protection, find ideas on how they can help spread fraud awareness, learn how to get involved, and view anti-fraud resources.
International Fraud Awareness Week was established by the ACFE in 2000 to raise awareness about fraud. The week-long campaign encourages business leaders and employees to proactively take steps to minimize the impact of fraud by promoting anti-fraud awareness and education.
