On September 13, 2022, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) Chair Charlotte A. Burrows and U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) Director Jenny R. Yang will lead a roundtable event titled “Decoded: Can Technology Advance Equitable Recruiting and Hiring?” to explore potential barriers automated technologies present to diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility.

According to an EEOC press release, the speakers will identify promising practices for using these systems to recruit and hire diverse workers in an equitable, inclusive, and accessible manner. The roundtable will be held as part of the agencies’ joint Hiring Initiative to Reimagine Equity (HIRE) and the EEOC’s Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Algorithmic Fairness initiative.
