Team Rubicon is a disaster response organization comprised of more than 70,000 military veterans, first responders, and skilled civilians dedicated to serving those impacted by disasters. The nonprofit organization assists communities across the country with incident management in coordination with other agencies, damage assessments, disaster mapping, debris management, hazard mitigation, and expedient home repair all with no cost to disaster survivors. Internationally, Team Rubicon volunteers typically provide emergency medicine services and primary care to disaster stricken communities.
ESR implemented an integrated and streamlined background check solution that sought to gain every process efficiency possible. The solution enabled Team Rubicon ‘Greyshirts’ to move quickly and easily complete their background checks for faster deployment into the field.
With the technology working seamlessly, Team Rubicon needed background checks completed ASAP. ESR eliminated barriers with fast turnaround times and hands-on personalized customer service. With ESR’s solution, Team Rubicon immediately saw significant improvements to turnaround time. Where average background screening previously took 7 to 10 days, background checks with ESR now take less than 3 days. The quick turnaround also impacts volunteer experience by reducing the time it takes for a volunteer to get to the field.
The added feature enabling volunteers to pay for their own background check as a donation to Team Rubicon increased donations and reduced staff time and costs. Team Rubicon’s accounting department was thrilled at the significantly reduced number of reimbursement checks that previously had to be manually printed, signed, and mailed.
